About Us History |
Over the years, Wetering Rotterdam developed into a Ship Repair, Trade and Service company for the Marine Market. Wetering Rotterdam was founded on 21st June 1880 by Dirk van de Wetering. The company started as a black smith and carpenter workshop. First as a part of the famous Boele Shipyard, but after Boele’s bankruptcy, Wetering Rotterdam became a separate, independent and privately owned company.
Today, we are still independent thanks to our highly motivated personnel, and our ability to act flexibly in the market. This way, our repair department has become a well known partner in ship repair for many Ship Owners and Managers from all over the world. Our aim is to solve any technical and logistical problem on board of sea going vessels in the North West of Europe, or any other place the Ship Owners and Managers need us.
Around 1965, the first contacts with our Japanese principals were established. The co-operation we developed resulted in our principals appointing Wetering Rotterdam as the authorised Spare part and Service supplier for their equipment.
In the years to follow, several Service contracts were signed with reputable Original Equipment Makers (OEM’s). Our Trade and Service department takes care of the spare parts supply and after sales service on behalf of our principals. Together with the technical knowledge of our experienced workforce, and the backup of our principals, we are your ideal partner in Ship Repair, Trade & Service. | |
